Your Role
We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our Primary School from August 2026.

You will create a nurturing, inquiry-based classroom that supports children aged 5–11 in becoming curious, confident and caring learners. This role is ideal for a reflective international educator who is passionate about student wellbeing, inquiry and inclusive education.

Specific Responsibilities

What you will do

Teaching & Learning

  • Support the academic and social development of pupils under the guidance of the Class Teacher, Deputy Principal, and Principal.
  • Assist children across the curriculum, enabling learning through exploration, experimentation, and hands-on activities.
  • Provide support for groups or individual students inside and outside the classroom to facilitate full participation.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils and respond to emotional or behavioural needs with care and professionalism.
  • Support students with additional learning needs or for whom English is a second language.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for relevant students.
  • Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities, providing regular feedback to the teacher.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and review learning activities and share observations.
  • Accompany students to specialist classes and provide support when required.
  • Support classroom management and maintain a positive, safe learning environment.

Administrative Duties

  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and organization of the classroom environment.
  • Prepare and display students’ work to celebrate achievement and enhance the learning space.
  • Support teachers with filing, portfolios, and maintaining accurate student records.
  • Assist with photocopying, classroom organization, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate in playground and bus duty as assigned.

The successful candidate will have:

What makes you our ideal Candidate

  • High school diploma required and qualifications in education desirable
  • At least 5 years’ experience in small children, in classroom or educational settings preferred.
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required; German and/or other languages are desirable.
  • Ability to take initiative and actively participate in all aspects of school life.
  • Patience, flexibility, strong work ethic, and a sense of humour.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
  • A warm, reflective and student-centred approach
