We are seeking a Caretaker / Hauswart (80% - 100%). The caretaker team is responsible for the maintenance of the whole school site and each acts as a deputy for the other caretakers in case of absences.

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Cleaning and maintenance work of garden and grounds, cleanliness and tidiness of school grounds regular inspections. “Gebäudeunterhalt u. Umgebungsarbeiten”
  • Provide assistance to other caretakers regarding general maintenance of school grounds
  • Ecological waste management.  Recycling of waste
  • Assistance during the main cleaning carried out during school holidays
  • Repair and maintenance of various school buildings and furniture, compliance with safety requirements met by the entire campus
  • Support School Service Manager regarding service contracts, and liaise with contractors to ensure all work is carried out to the quality required within budgeted cost. Other administrative support and delivery
  • Functions and events preparation and reset. Preparation of halls for school activities.  Event preparation and assisting in special events held at weekends (2-3 times per year)
  • Winter service from 06:00 onwards as all paths, stairs, drives, etc. must be cleared of snow and ice by 08:00
  • On-call hours are necessary to deal with maintenance issues as they arise

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Preferable qualifications in "Fachmann Betriebsunterhalt"

  • First Aid

  • Facility management software experience

  • Building services engineering (Gebäudetechnik)

  • Garden and grounds upkeep experience

  • Bus route driving holder “D1”, full bus licence

  • Knowledge of German and English language
